Flint's Strike

Flint’s Strike is more than a book. You don’t just read it, you feel it. The depth of the plot, the action, and the characters are perfectly put together. The viewpoint of a fire inspector made this story different, and I loved it. I’m glad I was able to ARC this story.

Parker and Eliot are both struggling to recover from traumatic events. The physical and emotional reminders are always there. They’ve both lived with grief and self-recrimination for so long that it’s a challenge to let others in. Until they come across each other.

They are not twenty-somethings. There is an excitement as though they were young lovers, but there’s a comfort and maturity that comes from being older, well-lived people. The buildup of attraction and feelings between them is palatable. Attraction started the relationship, but acceptance is the cornerstone. Scars, those on the outside and those inside, don’t matter. My favorite thing about Parker and Eliot is their resilience. They may have emotional struggles, they may be down, but they’re not out.

Parker’s found family is the best! I absolutely love the ongoing storyline, including these characters. My heart still hurts for Grace. Nate is the friend everyone needs. His organizational skills and sarcasm are hilarious. Eliot’s knitting circle is a nice touch.

Patricia never fails to deliver a story that packs a punch emotionally. The HEA at the end is worth every feeling in your heart and soul.

Oh my gosh, this book was so good! Just like the other 2 books in this series, this one will keep you reading from the start to the end holding your breath just to see what happens with her characters.
Eliot and Parker both have scars for various reasons but watching these two navigate to each other and trusting one another gives us joy knowing that in the end, they will both have something special!

Thank you to Patricia and here team for an ARC of her latest in the LAST Defense series. This is Parker and Elliot's story, two people who are finding their way in the world with guilt and broken hearts. They have a chemistry they can't ignore, they each see the others trauma and stay, they let each other in. Like so many of Patricia's books, found family, twists, great banter, suspense and action...I am enjoying this series and these characters so very much.

Sparks are flying and I’m not talking about the buildings burning down, it’s the sparks between Eliot, a fire Marshall and Parker, a captain on the Rangers. They are investigating fires that are showing a pattern and the two departments team up to stop the arsonist before more people die. Both are struggling personally, as both have been through the wringer and have the scars to show for it…inside and out. As the two work to crack the case, the attraction between them is hard to deny and so are their pasts…to move forward they need to be all in, scars and all.

Another page turner with plenty of emotions that will put you through the wringer, both have pasts that define their present, Parker, with all she went through when kidnapped and Eliot from years ago as a firefighter. Both are survivors and fighters and once they open up…get the tissues ready. Then of course there’s Nate, Parker’s partner who brings the comedic relief and will have you laughing out loud. Suspense, steam, surprises, emotions, humour and amazing characters will keep you flipping till the end.

In this recent book from Patricia D. Eddy we continue with the L.A.S.T. Defense time. We again meet with Parker shortly after saving Grace. In investigating a series of arson fires in Austin she meets Flint, the fire investigator. And sparks fly! Both have baggage both physical and mental in the past that they have to work through to make the relationship work. As things heat up with the arson investigation the chase becomes more dangerous as people begin to die and more people are in the arsonist's path. I love Parker's sense of humor and the interactions between Parkers work partner Nate. I can't wait for Nate book next.
