Operation: Defiance

Whew! What a story! I loved it. Very intense and emotional, it was difficult for me to put down, I wanted to keep reading until the end (If I didn't have to work, I would have read it through). Patricia D. Eddy has quickly become one of my favorite authors. The depth of her characters and how she makes you feel their emotions is truly an art. I have read her Away From Keyboard Collection and Gone Rogue Series and loved them all! Please don't make me wait too long for the next in this Series!

I have been following and reading this author for years now and I thought she couldn't do any better but here she goes again...blowing away my expectations.

Note, this book is a long read BUT! it was oh so worth it.

The way Patricia tells her stories are full of in-depth research and even more heartfelt emotions. She guides us through the technical terms but immerses the reader in what it is to be a human being through unspeakable situations. And that love heals.

Romance, action and oh so many feels! You need to grab this book now!

h. My. God. There are no words to describe how incredibly good this book is without ruining the delight of discovering it yourself. If you have read Patricia's Fighting For Valor, it is set up like that, but different. Asher's care of Raine is top tier as he lets she heal in the way she needs to while helping her find and destroy the people and entities that did what they did to her. This is going to be a reread over and over for me as two of her other books: Fighting for Valor and Braving His Past. I wish I could read this for the first time over and over again. I am looking forward to seeing this couple again in the series.

Wow! This book started and full speed and stayed that way throughout! It was action packed and heavy on the suspense but that did not take away from Raine and Asher's story and relationship. Patricia did a wonderful job growing their relationship despite all going on around them. The story of their characters did not take away from the overall story line and vice versa. Very well written and done especially Raine's character! I also really enjoyed Raine and Inara's relationship!

Little does Asher know that when he breaks into a black site that he will find someone worth fighting for. He finds Raine with a bag over her head and close to death but she has enough strength to get out before she passes out. At his safe house, he nurses her back to health little by little and somehow instinctively knows what to do to keep her sane. Raine is in bad shape, she endured days of torture that almost broke her but she’s alive and that is a mistake to her captors. With Asher by her side, she will do whatever it takes to bring them down and when she finds other operatives who may have gone through the same thing….there is no stopping the wrath of Raine.

This read may be long but it sooooo worth it and once you start the chapters start melting away, the pages keep flipping and the descriptions are perfection, making you feel like a part of the story from the beginning, the torture, the recovery, and Asher, patient and fierce, willing to do whatever it takes to keep Raine safe and help her take down her captors. The story flowed beautifully, Raine and Asher stole my heart and not a paragraph, sentence or word was too much.
