Rogue Officer

Griff lost his arm and hearing during a CIA operation. Sloane has her own deep hidden wounds. He is supposed to protect her from threats from her past but doesn't think he's capable until she shows she trusts him to keep her safe. Lots of action, danger and heat. I didn't like her friend Marina, probably because she had moments when she cared more about herself or Sloane's appearance than Sloane. 4.5 stars because of that.

I read many books, different genres, all fiction. This book kept my attention constantly. I read it 80% of it in one afternoon and am looking forward to the next book in the series. It won't disappoint you, but it might make you think.

Audiobook:

I'm usually drawn in by the male narrators for Eddy's book, and while Sebastian York did a fantastic job bringing Griff to life... Lidia Dornet was an absolute goddess with Sloane's accent and inner fire. Both actors had an incredible way of bringing the raw emotion of these characters to life, and it made an already addictive read that much more enjoyable.

I was surprised by how much I loved Griff and Sloane, by how well-suited they were for one another. Their balance, the rhythm they found while playing at a relationship until finally realizing the truth of their feelings... it was an absolutely addictive read. And the tension! Even scenes that worked out far better than my cynical and paranoid mind expected still had such tension built into them that I was at the edge of my seat.

Since his last mission Griff has had a tough time getting his life back together especially physically. He gains more than his confidence it is well deserved

This one starts out rough. If you're familiar with Patricia then you know she doesn't shy from the tough subjects and gets down to the nitty gritty... so with that said, I just feel maybe I should start with the trigger warning because I admit, even though I listen to books with lots of tough subjects, my eyes widened when the story started and I did think "wow, okay"... the story is amazing though. Sloane has been through and survived so much. Her story is truly heartbreaking. And if you've read about Austin previously, then you know what Griff went through and is still dealing with. Those demons and battles make them perfect for each other. Griff is such a strong and protective man even if he doesn't see it, but luckily Sloane does. And in turn, he recognizes how strong Sloane is and helps her to see that. There is self healing, danger, action, suspense, and of course love as these two realize they can have an HEA with each other. Lidia Dornet was a new narrator to me and I enjoyed part... I always love Sebastian York's narration so when I heard his voice I definitely smiled. They brought the story to life.
