I’d rather be elbows deep defusing a bomb than deal with my feelings. But civilian life is messy. It's also all I’ve got after one slip up almost sent me home from my last tour in a body bag. Now I debug lines of code by day. At night, I run an online message board for vets. When I’m not with West—a retired SEAL.

It’s not what you think.

We’re online gaming buddies. Geeking out and trash talking until all hours. But now, he wants to meet. I haven’t let my guard down with anyone in years. I’m not sure I know how.

West

Six years after leaving the teams, the cold-sweat nightmares are only getting worse. But Cam’s irreverent mouth and uncanny ability to quiet my demons are welcome distractions.

She doesn’t do relationships, but after one date, I’m on fire for more. When I’m forced to take on a risky rescue mission to save my dojo, she retreats behind her keyboard—with her secrets. I’m willing to lay it all on the line to prove broken can be beautiful. But she has to show me her raw edges—and trust they're a perfect fit for mine.

Fast-paced, great story with excellent performances!

Fast-paced with great characters! Patricia Eddy has done a great job with this series! The story line is exciting with characters that are real with complex layers. It's so nice to see PTSD accurately represented with characters who struggle every day with physical and emotional trauma. Both of these narrators are new to me, but they did a great job! I would definitely recommend this series!
