Nomar

Do the job. Free the high-value target from a compound in Afghanistan and get out. Simple, right? Until I saw her. She begged me for help. I didn’t think. Grabbed her and her kid and ran. FUBAR didn’t even come close to covering what happened next.

And then…I disappeared. It doesn’t matter that I had no choice. That the President of the United States ordered me to “do the job.” I still abandoned them. When she’s in trouble, I can’t stay away. But how can I convince her my darkness will destroy her?

Lisette

I lived a nightmare for ten years. Cut off from my family, constantly afraid, and unable to escape. My only joy came from my son. His father wanted to turn him into a killer. But then a man stole into our compound in the middle of the night to free another and became our salvation.

He disappeared before we had a chance at something…more. But when a new threat comes for my son, he returns, and suddenly, I realize the truth. I’ve loved him for three years. But will we survive long enough to find our happy ever after? Or will the country that nearly killed me finally finish the job?

Time to go back in time

In Patricia Eddy's Book "Rogue Operator" we go back in time to when Nomar is rescuing Lisette and her sick son from the compound that she is held captive in by her abusive husband. Once they are rescused, Nomar has to return to working for the US governement. Now 3 years later Lisette is in danger again and Nomar is still in love with her and has returned to protect her if he can.
I loved the interaction between the characters and I enjoyed seening some characters from some of Patricia's older books reappear. The continuing theme that you can be imperfect and still be worthy really resonates for me.

Audio: Once again Patricia D. Eddy got the perfect dual narrators to read her book including accent! A fantastic listen.

Excellent Story & Narration🎧Riveting & Thrilling!

Patricia D. Eddy blows me away with another fantastic story set in her amazing “Gone Rogue” series, a series of romantic suspense novels. While each book stands on their own, it is beneficial to enjoy them in order written, characters cross over into each other’s books and knowing their backstories adds some depth, besides each book is just as amazing as the other. “Rogue Operator” starts off with Nomar and other team members on an action-packed, heart pounding rescue mission, where they were extracting one person, but Nomar saw others needed saving too and he got them out too. Lisette was a prisoner of her own life, stuck in a marriage with a controlling and brutal man, her only joy in her son, Mateen, despite his poor health. A rescue team came to get the American doctor out and one of them helped her and her son escape, but it was difficult to get out of Afghanistan, and her rescuer, Nomar, a force to be reckoned with had his own injuries, ones that he would not let slow him down. It was great to watch these two get to know each other as they navigate their way not only out of the country but to get medical attention for her son. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and he was great with Mateen, too. Just when things are settling for them, Nomar gets a call from the President, for another assignment, one he could not turn down. A short-term assignment, taking him off the grid, turned out to be several years and the guilt that he felt for what he had to do to get the job done ate at him, and kept him from returning to Lisette and Mateen. As soon as he found out that she and Mateen were in danger, he went to protect her. I loved how everything played out in this book, and as always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. There is never a dull moment in this book, the drama is non-stop and there is plenty of action, angst, twists, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Patricia D. Eddy, thank you for another amazing story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧 Bradley Ford and Isabelle Ruther were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting, accents and all. I loved how they took their roles and made them their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. Ford nailed it as Nomar, grasping every aspect of his personality, and Ruther did the same as Lisette. Both were excellent at performing the roles of all the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These versatile and superbly talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for an exceptional listen.

Amazing romantic suspense

Rogue Operator
Gone Rogue 5
By Patricia D Eddy
Narrated by Bradley Ford, Isabella Ruther

Now this is a fun listen! Patricia D Eddy is back with her Gone Rogue series and I could not be happier! Her writing is impeccable, each installment is original and includes crossover characters, not just from this series but others I have loved just as much. Nomar is on a mission, and when he finds Lisette and her son Mateen, he just cannot leave them behind in the circumstances they were in. Instant chemistry, Lisette and Nomar become close, but a turn of events takes Nomar back into the field. Years later he is back, and finds Lisette and Mateen again. But while things seemed calmed, danger was back and ready to pounce. This story is exciting, suspenseful and a beautiful love story all wrapped into one. Including Austin, Leo, Wren and Griff just made things that much more fun as they all worked together. I could not stop listening until it was finished!

Bradley Ford is Nomar, a little up tight, very focused and a little thrown by his feelings for Lisette and Mateen. He was fantastic bringing each facet of Nomar's personality alive. Lisette has a lot going on, from her scared, protective feelings to her confident, passionate ones. She changed as the story progressed and Isabella Ruther gave it all to us with her fabulous French accent. Loved these two and truly enjoyed this listen!
