Willow
In the past three weeks, I’ve gone from a boring adjunct college professor to seeing my own ghostly doppelgänger around every corner.
I’m apparently a witch. Thanks, Universe. A little heads up would have been nice.
Now, a secret government organization is trying to force me to wield my power for their own dark desires.
Just as they’re about to bring the pain, I’m saved by an honest-to-God—yes,
that God—angel.
He smells nice. His voice is like spun gold. And when he holds me? I’m ashamed to admit…I swoon. But I can’t trust anyone—not even a celestial.
I’m so screwed.
Because somewhere between running for my life and running from
him, I’ve fallen in love with my angel protector—and soon, he’ll have to go back home.

Gabriel
I am the Archangel Gabriel. Bringer of Justice, Revealer of Truth, and the Interpreter of the Almighty’s plan.
I came to earth to help a demon, but the experience turned my celestial existence upside down.
As it turns out, this realm is not all sunshine and rainbows. More like a swirling vortex of chaos. I have not seen a single harp. Wings are actively frowned upon. As are robes, for that matter.
But humans—and their emotions—are
fascinating. One human in particular. Willow Saunders. She’s in trouble. I alone can protect her. And I will.

Gabriel's Gambit is the second book in the Divine Guardians series. It can be read as a standalone, but it's best enjoyed after Storm of Sin.

Gabriel's Gambit was absolutely incredible!

A love letter to one of my favorite characters,

Oh, Gabriel, I was definitely not ready for you. You were so much more than I ever imagined. I mean, sure, you’re an archangel, but damn, you are sooo much more! And nobody could have brought you to glorious life on the page better than Patricia D Eddy. Then couple that with Jason Clarke’s narration and the most amazing HEA with your incredible other half, Willow (voiced by Maxine Mitchell) and your romance is one for the ages.

Thank you for being loud and strong in Patricia’s head. And thank you for bringing delicious banter, personality plus, steam, and intensity to the pages.

And to your dear Willow, a character with so much strength and intensity of her own- WOW! What a stunning journey through chaos and uncertainty, to finally achieve your perfect HEA. There is no doubt in my mind Gabriel is a better soul for your impact on his existence.

With much love and appreciation,

A paranormal romance fan who lost her way for a bit and was reunited with the subgenre through the characters in Patricia D Eddy’s Divine Guardians series.

Gabriel and Willow

I could not put this book down. The banter, epic one liners, and an archangel who's never experienced Earth trying to navigate the United States. Add Willow, who Gabriel has a protective instinct for, not to mention an intense attraction to, and this novel sucks you in in all the best ways as Willow tries to find, and destroy, the Blade before AURA does. A fabulous read.

Wow!

I was immediately caught up in the story and with the characters. Twists and turns and emotions. So many emotions. Gabriel and Willow …just Wow. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. Could be read as a stand-alone but do yourself a favour and read them all!

Fascinating

I was utterly fascinated with Gabriel's Gambit, start to finish. It's a classic tale of the battle between good and evil and the power of love over hate. Patricia D Eddy weaves a paranormal/supernatural romance with a divine bent and fills it with Archangels, seraphims, shifters, vampires, the fae, valkyries, demons and angels just to name a few. It's intense, it's chillng, suspenseful and at times has an apocalyptic feel to it. But there are also some lighthearted and humorous moments that will make you smile and perhaps laugh out loud. I know I did. I was riveted from page one and read it in one sitting. Ms Eddy dropped several hints that have me fervently hoping there are more books to come.

Gabriel's Gambit picks up where Storm of Sin left off. While not necessary, I heartily recommend that you read Wicked Omens and then Storm of Sin for context and a better knowledge of some characters. The Archangel Gabriel rescues Professor Willow Saunders in an unusual circumstance and subsequently becomes her protector. She unwittingly became embroiled with people whose intentions are anything but altruistic or well meaning. Along the way these two develop feelings but it seems Ill fated. Afterall, they live in two different realms. He's immortal and she's human. Or is she? It takes a combination of beings working together to rescue Willow, prevent a disaster and vanquish those bent on evil intent.

So In Love with Gabriel

When it comes to writing such amazing characters this author really knows how to get to the heart of you and I loved this story as much as I have her others. Picking up where Storm of Sin left us we get more of Gabriel, yes the archangel, and he may be clueless in some aspects of the human world but he acclimates flawlessly ready to explore. You just know when he and Willow have their first run in that there is a spark that we just have to explore and we do. Willow isn’t having it easy with this new phenomenon happening to her she thinks the ones that are there to help her are truthful, when in reality things aren’t what they seem and when Gabriel steps in to save her he is head over heels for her. I love watching these characters interact and not just Gabriel and Willow but the others with their banter and excitement over things like everything bagels lol. We get humor and steam but we get a love story that is meant to be with intense moments where we may not know the outcome, but can’t put it down until we find out and I LOVED every second of it.
